The Hot Antic Jazz Band formed in Nimes France in 1979 and is inspired by the Chicago and New York jazz music from the 1920 and 30s The influences of Cladys Jabbo Smith Clarence Williams King Oliver Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington are evident in their jazz style and repertoire
Led by Michel Bastide the band is widely regarded as Europes hottest and purest traditional jazz group
The eclectic group demonstrates their musical abilities on a total of nineteen instruments with enthusiasm and humor They are not shy to international attention with extensive worldwide touring television and radio appearances In 1983 they received BBC Radio Scotlands Best Band Award In 1985 they were awarded the Prix Sydney Bechet at the Academie du Jazz in Paris
The Hot Antic Jazz Band has performed with jazz legends including Jabbo Smith Benny Waters Claude Luter Ikey Robinson Topsy Chapman Hal Smith and Daniel Huck The group has produced over 20 recordings The Hot Antic Jazz Bands prominence in traditional jazz led to two historic recordings with Jabbo Smith Zoo and Jabbo Smith the Hot Antic Jazz Band and one with Benny Water Benny Waters the Hot Antic Jazz Band
The band now consists of six members from France Morocco and Switzerland and has toured in the United States Canada India Japan Africa and Europe

Tania Boyd has told the Nine Network that the woman in the ABCs Four Corners report identified as Clare had boasted to her workmates about bedding several players and only contacted police five days after the alleged incident
She was absolutely excited about the fact She was bragging about it to the staff and quite willing openly saying how she had sex with several players said Ms Boyd
We were quite disgusted about it There was no trauma whatsoever
Im disgusted that a woman can all of a sudden change her story from having a great time to then turning it into a terrible crime
One minute she was absolutely bragging about it she did not know names These names only came to light to us in the last day
We all just thought it was hilarious until five days later the police came to work and were horrified she had now changed her story to say she was now a victim of crime
It was definitely consensual absolutely
She is saying she is still traumatised etcetera well she wasnt for five days or four days at least after that affair
I cant work out whats happened Does it take five days for it to sink in
The woman told the ABC that the night in which she had group sex with several Cronulla players at a Christchurch hotel seven years ago left her with psychological damage and led her to abandoning her studies

FOOTY Show host Matthew Johns has been stood down from Channel Nine indefinitely

The fact is whatever the arguments about the details of the New Zealand incident involving Cronulla players in 2002 the conduct and its aftermath was simply unacceptable fullstop Gyngell said in a statement
