This is Summer Of 81 by Melbourne based 80s band Mondo Rock A single released from their Chemistry album of the same year 1981Mondo Rock were an 80s institution in popular Australian rock a big draw on the live circuit who charted numerous hits The band was formed in late 1976 by frontman Ross Wilson and went through various lineup changes to start with They reform from time to time to play including in April 2007The most famous lineup consisted of prolific songwriters Ross Wilson ex Daddy Cool and guitarist Eric McCusker who luckily pestered Wilson to let him join doing three auditions after the initial outing of Mondo Rock had lost momentum as well as Paul Christie on bass exKevin Borich Express who later formed The Party Boys John James J J Hackett exStars on drums and the versatile James Black now leading the RocKwiz TV show house band on SBS on keyboards and guitar This lineup recorded the second LP Chemistry out July 1981 The first LP was Primal Park 1979 Note If You Are A Record Company Employee Or Artists Who Objects To This Audio Enhanced Material Being Promoted Albeit In A Lossy Format On MySpace Then Please Contact Us To Have It Removed Before Flagging It At The Same Time You Might Also Like To Explain To The Fans Why The Original DVD Version Sounded Like ShyteIts Time Too Stop Dishing Out These Second Rate Products Those Days Are Over We Now Not Only Have The Technology To Notice It But We Can Expose It If Need Be Revive It Obviously Not Everyone Can Do The Latter But They Really Shouldn39t Have To Should They After All Isn39t That What The Sound Engineers Get Paid ForAudio Remastered On The Farm 2008

First single by 1980s Brisbane Australia band Solid Citizens Recorded at the UK Manor Studios in 1984 by Mike Shipley The Cars Def Leppard ACDC Nickleback Shania Twain Joni Mitchell Green Day etc and Mark Goldenberg Pointer Sisters Chicago and released on RoxyRCA Records Solid Citizens were Mick Walker and Glen Muirhead Singing in the Shower was written by Walker Muirhead John Barnes and published by GilbeyMCA Danielle Spencer daughter of actor Don Spencer and wife of Russell Crowe featured in the video produced by the K Team of Sue Davis and John Witteron who also did Who Can It Be Now for Aussie band Men at Work Interestingly the shower scene was shot at the South Sydney Rugby League team39s Rabbitohs change rooms now coowned by Russell Crowe The song was a minor hit in Australia although in Bathurst it entered the charts at 0351 knocking off Michael Jackson39s current national one hit The band was going to call the album Big in Bathurst but RCA dropped all their Australian bands for financial reasons and the album was never finished Glen went on to play in many Australian bands and Mick went to the UK as a songwriter The song was in the popular ABC TV series Sweet and Sour and included on various compilation albums The recording sessions were interesting for other reasons as studio and Virgin Records owner Richard Branson was also residing at the studios and spent days being exposed to Aussie culture humour and gocart driving expertise by the band members A good time was had by all
